Is this server good enough for vB2 ?

  • Hi!

    we have 100,000 posts and will grow by 500 - 800 daily soon. How many concurrent users do you think this engine can cope:

    - 700 P III celeron
    - 512MB RAM
    - HDD 2 x 40GB (Raid-Level 0)
    - RedHat Linux 6.2
    - Apache, PHP, MySQL all latest version

    this machine is for vB ONLY - the rest of the site is located on an other server.

    Do you think it can handle 200 users?

  • definitely upgrade your cpu to a P3 866 at least

    i went for a dual p3 866 with 512mb ram and it handles my vb with 30 - 140 users making 1400 - 1800 posts/day with loads between 0.05 - 0.35/0.65 and my server hosts my other sites as well


  • how about using that server just as a database server as described here:

    what ethernetspeed do I need between those two?
